Dog gut health supplements: what vets look for
Most gut problems in dogs are mild and everyday: soft stools, wind, grass eating. Here is how to choose a gut supplement, and when to skip it and call your vet.
Signs your dog's gut needs support
Soft or changeable stools, frequent wind, a gurgling tummy, eating grass, scooting, a picky appetite, and itchy skin that flares alongside digestion. One sign on its own rarely matters. A pattern over a few weeks is worth acting on.
Probiotic, prebiotic and postbiotic: what each one does
A probiotic adds friendly bacteria. A prebiotic is the fibre those bacteria feed on. A postbiotic is made from inactivated bacteria, so it supports the gut lining without needing to survive the stomach.
